Spotlight on the GeoHub

How the new map-based platform improves data access and facilitates citywide collaboration

I recently wrote an article highlighting our work on the GeoHub, a new portal that connects citywide location-based data to plan for and support city operations efficiently across diverse residents.

On the surface, the new portal might not seem so different than other open data portals but it has some unique features that make it easier to collaborate, create, and share maps that provide insights and promote Los Angeles as a data-driven city. The GeoHub platform has improved inter-departmental communication, civic engagement, and governmental performance by making previously open data more usable.
