The millennials would remember using the Edge to communicate on their mobile phones, and it seemed like the fastest internet speed. But in this advanced and modernized world, using Edge is nothing but a nightmare with crawling speed and ever-lowering bandwidth. Be it the 3G internet speed, or 4G, the hype was real, and people were literally counting days to get their hands on this new internet bandwidth.

However, according to the latest innovation, the 5G technology might be hitting the world with its fastest-ever bandwidth, promising top-notch speed. People are cheering for this new internet speed hitting the world really soon, but hey, listen, is this technology only for your mobile, tablets, and laptops? We don’t think so because we have been eyeing some news, and Huawei might be playing an integral role in ramping up the implication and utilization of 5G!

So, we don’t think that Huawei needs any introduction because they are one of the industry’s key players. With the new technology coming up, Huawei is working on its 5G-based HiCar technology, and it has been in the pipeline for a long time now. Many people are considering it another auto-infotainment system, but it’s untrue, and we are going to see what this is all about. Hence, HiCar technology is an interface adhered to the prime operating system of the car. Similarly, it offers the vehicle-to-x channel on the road.

Launch Date

Huawei is rolling out its HiCar technology, and it is highly likely to appear on the BYD Han EV in June. However, in the progressive and upcoming times, the range of models might be launched by thirty different automakers and brands. For ensuring the fast performance of autonomous vehicles, the Internet of Things, and smart cities, the integration of 5G technology will be top-notch and ultra-fast.

Adaption Of Cars to 5G

First of all, it’s needless to say that 5G adoption will enhance services, performance, and productivity. As far as the exact functions are concerned, 5G integration will offer control on locks, windows, air conditioners, and other streaming media.

BYD & Their 5G Adaption

So, BYD is one of the pioneers who are implementing and integrating Huawei’s HiCar technology in their cars. The first car with 5G HiCar technology will be Han flagship electric sedan. The manufacturing and rolling out will start in June and according to the experts, the price might be starting with $40,000. The cost of the car is rounding around the Tesla Model 3, and it’s essential to note that the design and style are quite similar as well.

Is BYD The Only Company?

Well, they might be taking the first step, but according to insights, Huawei has contacted 18 different automakers, and they are all signed up to integrate 5G and HiCar technology in their cars. The most notable carmaker is Audi, and on the other hand, EVs might be created with an integration of Toyota with BYD. With these implications, there might be a higher demand for charging because charging seems to be impacted by the advanced features.

So, the fast-charging standards will be knocked with Japan and China’s partnership as they are working on next-generation DC fast-charging for the vehicles and automobiles. The additional carmakers belong to China, such as Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Dongfeng Motor, Beijing Automotive Industry Holding, FAW Group, Guangzhou Automobile Group, Chang’an Automobile, Great Wall Motors, Nanjing Automobile, Chery Automobile Co, and SAIC Motor.

It’s essential to note that all of them are participating in EV generation and manufacturing as well. As far as the Han EV is concerned, it has been designed with the latest lithium iron phosphate batteries. There are multiple pack sizes available, making the overall miles of range of 375. With this speed, the signals shall travel to 60 mph in less than four seconds, pretty fast, right?

Motors & Battery

BYD shall be coming forward with their flagship model, and their Han will be integrated with dual-motor and single-motor designs, but for the people with love for hybrids, the flagship model has the plug-in hybrid option available as well. Now come the batteries because China has multiple top battery manufacturers, and one of them is CATL, the battery giant.

However, BYD has been ranked at the second position with 10.76 GWh capacity. According to BYD, they are using the blade-shapes design because it enhances the space utilization by literally 50%, that’s pretty amazing. Also, this is an efficient option that has been topping the charts as compared to other competing designs.

Huawei & Its Tech Rankings

Huawei Technologies is one of the top, and largest telecommunication equipment suppliers, and they have managed to get themselves at the top chart. However, the US and China trade war have caused a bad impact on Huawei because the Trump Administration has added them to the blacklist.

5G Base Stations

According to the information and insights shared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China, there is over 200,000 base station set up in the country, and by the end of the year 2020, more than 500,000 5G base stations will be designed and deployed by the telecommunication industry, in collaboration with the Chinese government.

Many people are having a hard time finding the link, but let us ease it for you. So, these base stations will be integrated with hundreds and thousands of connected EV charging stations. These integrations and deployments are part of Huawei’s HiCar technology.

The Ever-Famous Huawei C-V2X System

There are many people eagerly waiting for the cellular vehicle-to-everything system, and it has been integrated with roadside units. These units are highly likely to connect the speed limit signs, traffic lights, and road cameras. As far as car manufacturing is concerned, there hasn’t been a green signal from Huawei.

In contrast, Huawei will work on becoming the centralized and standard choice for the 5G communication system for building the environment and integrate the services into automobiles. These implications are highly likely to devise a path for smart and advanced autonomous driving systems. All in all, Huawei is constantly working on adding cloud-based communications and AI systems for the enhanced automotive ecosystem!
