Everyone loves those furry friends for their goofiness and how they take care of you. They are happy when you are in glee, and they have those sad eyes in your down moments. This just makes you love them even more than yourself. That’s to say because the notion of pet insurance has been rising on the pet block, but it involves troublesome procedures.

Insurance Plans For Your Furry Friends

Ranging from boring paper forms and the inculcation of microchip in the pet, everything is so frustrating. But wait, technology is here to help yet again because Alipay is cranking up the notch with insurance notions. That’s because Ant Financial, in collaboration with Alibaba, has mentioned that their digital insurance programs for pets, cats, and dogs only.

The enrolment for the digital program is easier than it has ever been. All you need to do is use the Alipay app and sign up for the digital profile of the animals. The digital profile will start with pet’s pictures. The close-up videos are essential to record the nose print (just like our fingerprints are integral for the identification) because nose prints are unique to dogs and cats.

The similar technology has been implied for a long time, aimed at tracking and locating the lost dogs. The nose prints are usually taken by painting up the nose with ink and pressing it on the cardboard. However, with Alipay, the nose print will be taken through artificial intelligence. In addition, basic information like breed and birthdate is essential.

According to Alipay, this advanced technology has a 90% precision and accuracy rate. The insurance starts with 199 yuan to provide 3,000 yuan, which is designed to cover non-congenital diseases and accidents. The insurance has been planned in collaboration with ZhongAn and China Continent Insurance.

Differentiating Among Dogs

Megvii is one of the most famous artificial intelligence companies in China, and they’ve been working on similar technology. The technology aims at differentiating the dogs through the nose print, and the accuracy rate has been upscaled to 95%. In addition to Alipay, Lufax has been providing a similar insurance plan.

That’s to say because they introduced a similar plan last year. With their plan, the pet owners can scan the pet’s face and sign to claim the money. The insurance plan was designed in collaboration with Ping An that happens to be the biggest insurer in China. All in all, facial recognition has witnessed a spike with keen interest by medical researchers.

Identifying & Following Animals With Facial Recognition

It’s no secret that facial recognition technology has a huge following among advertising companies, governments, and events eh law enforcement bodies. Facial recognition technology implies the machine learning tools to search for the faces, now being actively used for animal identification. This is because the researchers at Oxford University are now using facial recognition to collect data for the wild chimpanzees.

They are able to track the faces of individual chimpanzees. According to Dan Schofield, the doctoral students and the researcher at Primate Models Lab, the system is designed to improve the data quality regarding the chimpanzees. This is because chimpanzees have a complicated social life, and the short-term snapshots of their activities are not enough.

So, the researchers were aiming for an in-depth understanding of the chimpanzee’s lives by studying multiple generations. The hundreds of hours of video recordings are now readily available. The video records comprise of chimpanzee group of the West African side. The video was initiated back in 1988, and a special outdoor laboratory was established.

The computer model for facial recognition was designed with ten million images of different animals. The model was implied to search and track the individual chimpanzees after recognition. The poor quality of images couldn’t tarnish the effectiveness of the results because there were different lighting conditions out there.

The system was able to accomplish a 92% accuracy rate, and the sex identification accurate rate is around 96%. The research managed to identify the higher accuracy rate with a higher efficiency rate. This is because the computation worked faster than humans, of course. The similar technology will be available for other researchers with permission. This is because the technology can be used to monitor different species to line out their behavior.

Finding The Lost Dogs

The dogs and cats are important to us, and losing them is the saddest thing to happen. With the incorporation of facial recognition, the pet owners can get a leash on their lost pet. The smartphones have been integrated with the facial recognition feature, and now, it can be used for pets as well. The app is known as Finding Rover.

The app is integrated with the facial recognition feature, aimed at helping pet owners reunite with their lost pets. In addition, it provides the perfect way to adopt the right pet. If there are instances when the pet runs off and is missing, the owners can upload the pictures of the lost pet on the website and conduct the facial recognition search.

The website will show the available pets in the vicinity and check the contact information. The contact information is about the shelter or the person who found the pet. In addition, the animal shelter can partner with the websites to take in the pets and search up on the “missing” list. The users can register the pets for free.

The big names like Humane Educational Society have signed up with Finding Rover for better services. Also, the adopting person needs to share the pet information to the account. All in all, the pet would already be there. In case you’ve lost the pet, you can upload their image on the app, and the app will pop up the identical pet in the area.

The option will be open for adoption. According to the developers, they don’t want the pet owners to go through the pain of losing the pet. The bottom line is that they want to make this world a better place for pets.
