Datawallet + Enigma
If you are following our channels closely you will have already seen the news about Datawallet partnering with Enigma on an exciting use case and as the first partner for their new secret smart contracts. We will be working together on a tool for sybil prevention, utilizing users’ social data without revealing this data to any third parties. Self-sovereign data is a crucial part of formulating a self-sovereign identity. This method bootstraps identity using existing social media profiles to prove a user is not a bot, while keeping the user’s social data completely private from all parties.

Another data marketplace launch partner is Datawallet, which aims to let users monetize data from applications, such as social media, by selling them to advertisers, for example. The application’s goal is “complete user empowerment and data ownership,” CEO Serafin Lion Engel told CoinDesk.
In Datawallet’s case, Engel said, the protocol will provide Sybil protection, that is, prevent bad actors from spinning up multiple digital identities to swamp the platform. While plugging in existing social media accounts is a good way to provide such protection, Enigma’s Zyskind added, some “people don’t want to connect their Facebook account and give you their data.”

Wyre Iniative on Community Driven On-Chain Compliance
Our good friends over at Wyre announced their new initiative and interpretation of on-chain compliance this week trying to lower barriers and risk for anyone interested in cryptocurrencies. At Datawallet we also work on making sure our platform is not only relevant to the crypto-community, but to a larger mainstream user base — therefore we are happy to support these kind of initiatives. As part of their latest release, Wyre will allow verified users to opt-in to receive an ERC-721 compliance token. This token is minted from licensed parties, e.g. Wyre, and applied to a verified user’s Ethereum wallet of choice. The token is similar to the blue checkmark on Twitter and is their first step towards bringing compliance on-chain.
