Meet Jess!

Jessica Rosenthal is the Head of Digital Marketing at Datch. As the company’s first marketing hire, her role spans everything from brand awareness and community management to campaign activation and demand generation. She is a veteran professional in tech marketing and startup incubation with a specialized expertise in artificial intelligence. Jess is passionate about innovation, efficiency, and manifesting ideas into a tangible reality.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’ve always been fascinated by building digital experiences and taught myself to code websites at a very young age. I graduated from USC with a degree in Psychology and a focus on consumerism, product design, and customer relations. I’ve found that my interests paired with my education has uniquely positioned me for marketing in a world that is becoming more and more virtual. I have professional experience from seed-funded company to Fortune 500 corporation, but I am truly a start-up aficionado at heart. I thrive in environments where I have the permission to build, optimize, collaborate, and grow. I enjoy staying on top of the latest trends in the tech world — everything from Bitcoin to biohacking.

What brought you to Datch?

I came across Datch, a budding startup with an innovative idea and an intelligent group of ambitious individuals. They were a young AI tech company looking for its first marketing hire, a rather serendipitous fit with my background. After learning more about the company and its product, I knew I had to be a part of exposing the brand and telling its story. Meeting the team only further validated my excitement to ‘join the family.’ Since Day 1, the culture has felt like home.

What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

I am a sucker for endorphins. Running, boxing, biking, swimming, kayaking — all of it. On the weekends, you can find me hiking with my husband and our two dogs (probably carrying the French Bulldog and trying to keep up with the Mini Goldendoodle). Afterwards, we’re most likely in the kitchen cooking up something yummy yet healthy. I’m really passionate about nutrition …and delicious food.

What is your most memorable accomplishment?

My most memorable accomplishment was when my last startup was acquired. I was the team’s first and only marketing hire and responsible for unveiling and building the brand’s identity. I was so proud to have contributed to such a monumental milestone.

And your favourite movie?

A Little Princess and each of the Disney classics. I don’t know, I guess I am still a little kid at heart.

For when I am feeling more like a grown up, the Fast & Furious and 007 movies. I have this thing for cars.
