CEO of DateCoin Nikita Anufriev:

A successful launch of our ICO, a few days after the start of which we achieved the Soft Cap, gave me a moral right to continue a serie of author’s materials about the most effective tools in the crypto world which should be used in order to achieve goals as soon as possible. In my previous materials I wrote whether to participate in crypto-conferences, how to work with trackers, what specialists to hire and much more. I hope that these materials are interesting to read not only to those who hold or are just going to hold their ICO, but also to those who have already invested in one of the projects or are just going to do it. Today I would like to devote the material to the largest and oldest resource in the sphere of cryptocurrencies — BitcoinTalk forum.

Bitcointalk was originally created by Satoshi Nakamoto — the “father” of bitcoin, a person whose true identity is unknown (maybe he is not a person, but a group of people). Before Bitcointalk was created, Satoshi had used SourceForge forum to discuss bitcoin-related issues (unfortunately, this forum is no longer exist).

Satoshi’s profile on Bitcointalk can be found today — the last time he went to his account was on the 13 of December 2010 (link to his profile https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3). By the way, one of Satoshi’s last posts (before he eventually disappeared) was dedicated to WikiLeaks.

According to the forum itself, there are now about 2 million users registered on the site, who have written about 34 million messages. Since the creation of Bitcointalk the content on the site has received several billion page views. On average about 400 new users register on the forum every day, and the ratio of men to women is 4:1.

It is curious that the design and functionality of the forum have not been changed since its first publication.

By far the most popular topic on Bitcointalk is a branch of “Altcoin Ads”, followed by section of “Bitcoin discussion” and “Altcoin debate”. By the way, the branch of” Altcoin Ads “ has become especially popular since 2017 due to the constantly growing number of ICOs and token sales, which are held every week. In this part of forum there is a section of DateCoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2351857.0).

In order to work effectively on the platform,l you need to know its “pitfalls”. So, for example, a frequent change of IP-address will cause a blocking of an account. Publishing of non-thematic messages is also punished. A block of accounts is usually temporary, but it happens at the most inappropriate moment. You can minimize risks by registering multiple accounts. By the way, it’s not against the forum rules — you can even buy an account from third-party users. It is necessary not to forget to change the password and e-mail. But a username won’t be changed, so it is not necessary to buy a “promoted” account for the project.

What do I mean when I write “promoted”? BitcoinTalk has a rank system and a user of each rank has certain restrictions. Once a person registers he gets the status of Newbie. He is not available to publish pictures and active links and between responses to messages of other users will have to wait six minutes. In general, it is extremely inconvenient. Therefore, for a comfortable work you need to get the status of at least a Junior Member (Jr. Member), and for this you will need 30 reputation points, which are accrued according to scheme “one post — one point.” As soon as the user gains 14 points, reputation growth will be frozen for 14 days. However, the system will continue to capture activity. After two weeks, points will continue to accrue. It is necessary to remember this-especially if the start of the project is tied to a certain day. In this connection, you need to register on the forum in about a month and a half before publication. This time is enough to “promote “ the account.

The rating of a topic is calculated in a standard way-the more messages, the higher its position. The most correct way is to respond to incoming messages immediately after publishing as it is appreciated by users.

The very principle of the forum is very simple —

But, as practice shows, this is not the worst option. The worst option — is to get the inscription “SCAM” in the branch, which can not be hidden or removed.

However, the company can be supported by a bounty program. What is it and how to configure it — I will tell you in one of the next posts!
