Hey guys, let’s get real for a minute.

When it comes to online dating, you’re probably thinking it’s all about the swipes and the matches. But let’s not forget that your dating profile is the first thing a potential match sees before deciding to swipe right or left. So, let’s make sure we’re putting our best foot forward, shall we?

First and foremost, for the love of all things holy, please wear a shirt in your profile pictures. I know it’s hot out and you want to show off that beach bod, but let’s leave something to the imagination.

Trust me, it’ll be more enticing to a potential match if they see a well-dressed, put-together man rather than a half-naked one.

And while we’re on the subject of attire, can we please ditch the sunglasses? I understand the desire to look cool and mysterious, but it’s just not attractive.

Plus, it’s hard to get a good sense of what someone looks like when their eyes are hidden behind a pair of shades. So, take off the sunglasses and let your gorgeous eyes shine through.

Next up, let’s nix the bathroom selfies. Nobody wants to see you in a cramped, poorly lit space. Instead, opt for a well-lit, well-angled shot of you in a natural setting.

This could be a picture of you at the beach, in the park, or even just out and about in your everyday life. Just make sure the background isn’t too cluttered and that you’re not making a weird face.

And speaking of pictures, let’s limit the number of selfies. I know it’s easy to take a quick snap with your phone, but a selfie doesn’t give a great impression of what you really look like.

Plus, it can come across as vain or self-absorbed. Instead, ask a friend to take a few pictures of you in different settings and poses. This will give potential matches a more well-rounded view of who you are and what you enjoy doing.

So what will the ladies like?

Aim for 4–6 good quality pictures that showcase your interests and personality.

Make sure the resolution is clear and that at least one of them is a full-body shot. This will give people a better idea of what you look like from head to toe and what your style is like.

And if you’re feeling really stuck, consider asking a female friend for some input on which pictures to use. They’ll likely have a good sense of what other women will find attractive and engaging.

In conclusion, guys, it’s time to step up your dating profile picture game. Wear a shirt, take off the sunglasses, ditch the bathroom selfies, and choose 4–6 high-quality pictures that showcase your interests and personality.

With a little effort and some help from a friend, you’ll be on your way to creating a profile that will have potential matches swiping right in no time.
