Imagine Cup

Every year, the Microsoft Imagine Cup helps thousands of students across the world express their innovation and passion for technology, develop new skills and turn an idea into reality. It’s a great source of excitement for all of us, but it’s also much more. The Imagine Cup is an opportunity to inspire the most talented students to make an impact with Microsoft technology and become tomorrow’s tech leaders. FY15 has been an exciting and successful year for the US Imagine Cup. We’ve seen a sharp increase in submissions to reach 302 applications, a lot of fun projects and a strong positive response from the student and EDU communities illustrated by this CNBC article.

Last week, the 12 US Imagine Cup finalists will fly to San Francisco to compete for a spot into the WW Imagine Cup Semi-Finals and $4,000. These students have already moved through two rounds of competition to land a coveted spot in the US Finals. Each team will pitch its project and answer questions from a judging panel comprised of highly respected Silicon Valley technology leaders and entrepreneurs. One winning team will be selected in each of the following categories: Games, Innovation, and World Citizenship. The entire event will be streamed to the Channel9 homepage. Beyond the competition, students will also experience the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem first-hand. They will visit accelerators, co-working facilities and startups, and learn from technology leaders what it takes to launch a startup.

You can find all of the video from last week’s Imagine Cup Finals in San Francisco on Channel 9.
