For me personally, I have been wanting to do what I can do with all of the design tools that I have learned over the course of my lifetime. But, I am excited to show this as it being my first infographic that I have ever made. It not a complete nor an item of overwhelming contrast issues but it is a good basic infographic none the less. I am a big gamer and sometimes it could get in the way of important things, but I’ve learned over the years that some things have their place in life.

This infographic applies greatly to me because I am a big computer gamer and the information that I gathered was right up my alley. Now, this is not a bash of Apple vs. Windows, but it explains of why certain operating system computers are more geared towards gaming than another. It also shows the main design principle behind it: Flexibility-Usability Tradeoff. Now this isn’t the most perfect info-graphic, mostly because of a few typos but it delivers what it needs to deliver. This is not a info-graphic of bragging rights for my computer per se, but it allows me to see that my computer can work subpar with other computers.

This info-graphics gives a brief look into history as to why things are the way they are. For example, With any Microsoft backed computer, you can easily take out the parts for it and replace parts, which is easier for a desktop version computer if you know what you are doing. In the case for Apple however, they have recently gotten away from people changing out parts themselves and having people getting their devices repaired at Apple Stores rather replacing themselves or having people buy a new computer out right, which is highly expensive depending on circumstances. Let’s begin with the research into making the info-graphic and why I added in that research.

Research

An old info-graphic that was used as part of my research

PC gaming has been a hallmark of gaming for many years, but has kind of fallen to the wayside thanks to console gaming. However in recent years, the PC gaming market has jumped up thanks in part to the popularity of various PC-only games and the creation of better graphics and more powerful computers.

For my research, I found that there was not anything that specifically really pointed to the difference between Windows-based computers and Mac-based computers in terms of gaming.

In that vein, I decided to find information on the difference between a gaming that was built in like 2005 to one that was manufactured as early as 2017(which I did this in early 2017 anyways). I also did comparisons between Apple Macbook Pros and iMacs to Windows based computers that are made from a local distributor. I am not saying that PC Laptops makes the best gaming computers but, they can compete others like Alienware, HP Envy, and others. Plus, I own one, which gives me an experience of how their computers handle.

This info-graphic on the right among others was used to to gear on how my info-graphic and some of the information that will be contained. However, this isn’t the most flashiest info-graphic, but it does have good information for what it shares.

Using the power of Adobe Illustrator and armed with some ideas, I proceeded to create my info-graphic and besides a few typos, it is really good and delivers a valid point to what my topic was.

Also to note, some of the information from my research was rather outdated because quite frankly, most people don’t usually make info-graphics even though they have a recent comeback I guess. Anyways, that is why I had a hard time finding anything relevant to what I was researching. I guess nobody had anything on their minds of why certain things are the way they are.

This is another info-graphic from my research
This is an old info-graphic made by Nvidia in 2013. I am sure some of this info is out-dated by now.
This is another info-graphic on gaming mice, it was rather cute but, not what I was looking for.

And now I will introduce you to the info-graphic that I worked so hard on. It is not the most perfect of info-graphics out there but, it does what it is supposed to. Also note the design principles that went into this, especially the idea of Flexibility-Usability Tradeoff which the info-graphic does a great job of dealing with that so, I am not explaining it here.

My Info-graphic

I am not bashing on Apple in any terms or ways, and I think Apple has given a little bit of thought towards Gaming in some respects but I think that Apple is primarily focusing on Design aspects of what their computers are being used for. However, it is mostly Microsoft backed computers that currently dominate the gaming scene and I feel that is how it will be for the next few years. However, Apple can do some gaming aspects, but I doubt that it will be for anything extremely serious. I really hope that I am wrong on that, but I guess that is how things are right now. Also, I am quite hoping of hanging on my current laptop for several more years until I am ready to gut-it out and replace parts for it(which is nice for PC Laptops computers). At the same time, I would consider getting a Macbook Pro but, mostly for development stuff since I am not it would handle my gaming habits, plus would it have the games that I enjoy playing on there? If Apple were to come out with their own gaming computer than I think that would give the major gaming computer manufacturers a run for their money. But, I am not sure if that will happen anytime soon. For now, I will stick with my Sager for all of my gaming needs.

Please leave any comments that you like about it or don’t like about it.
