There was a time when people didn’t trust the new buttons and features on elevators, despite significant improvements in safety and efficiency. The transition from driver-operated vehicles to autonomous vehicles (AVs) shows parallels, but we are learning to adapt and adopt at a much quicker pace. What could slow down AV adoption and innovation? Siloed, proprietary networks owned by centralized companies. DAV wants to do for transportation what the internet did for information transfer — establish a common, open source protocol for all applications to enable AVs to communicate, collaborate, innovate.
