AI needs to be embedded everywhere in your company. Start with Language
There’s a long post on the way… I haven’t written almost the whole week, that’s the longest break in months. I’ve been wanting to write a meaty AI snapshot.
This isn’t it. But it’s coming. Soon. Hopefully.
In the meantime, there really isn’t an excuse to not have AI embedded everywhere with anything you’re building now.
Language (or having AI read things and try do things for you)
Consider your support process. Do you get a lot of email/webform questions that could be automated? as in, they don’t need handholding or extra care?
- what are you opening hours?
- What is your returns policy?
- How much does postage cost to the Netherlands?
Using a simple, free, api.ai bot and an offshore developer from upwork.com right now you could build this for about $200. The bot would then check every new record that is created, see if it can help, and only if it can’t will it be sent to a real person. This is easy to do, why aren’t you doing it?
The way this works is the bot reads your language and translates it to an intent. You then map the intent to an action. You train the bot different ways it can understand the intent. Group similar requests to the same intent, and the bot will get smarter and smarter over time. Keep training and adding items over time.
This uses the same technology to drive chatbots. Check out api.ai and this excellent course from Udemy
Now, go do the course, and on Monday show up and say “here, I made this”.
