DAY IN HISTORY-June 5
Join Ferris for a Day Off
Ferris Bueller Skips School
I donât know about you, but during these hard days in America, I need to take a break from the chaos and the political insanity weâre experiencing. So itâs a perfect day to join Ferris Bueller, and take a day off.
June 5 is when the fictional Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) plays hooky with his best friend Cameron (Alan Ruck) in the 1986 John Hughes film Ferris Buellerâs Day Off. Ferris has a bad case of senior-i-tis as he is close to graduation and just wants to go out and play. Ferris fakes an illness and successfully gets his buddy Cameron out of school. The two of them engage in harmless mayhem and shenanigans 17-year-olds can imagine.
The schoolâs dean Edward Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) is onto Ferris and wants to catch him in his truancy. But Ferris outsmarts him using a bag of hilarious tricks.
