Silhouette in the sunset, arms placed just so with one reaching up and outward and the other back and downward. Feet perfectly perched, heels up and eyes up in the direction of her outstretched hand. An expression of beauty, grace and art set before the background of a hilly horizon line. You can almost hear the music in the picture…you can absolutely feel the emotion. This is justice through photography done properly to an age old culture of the dance form called…ballet.

What inspired you to become a ballet photographer?

“The advent of Digital photography opened my eyes to an opportunity for me to show the beauty I saw in this world. Ballet in scenic locations became what I love to capture most. Dancers athleticism is impressive and their graceful movement in interesting locations is what I try to display.” — Bruce McCarty, Dayflash user @brucelynnmccarty

“The ballerina-Anna I met in Ukraine and she performs for Odessa Opera and Ballet. They came to my hometown of Jacksonville and I met with them…” — Bruce McCarty, Dayflash user @brucelynnmccarty

What draws you to Dayflash?

“Dayflash is the best place to be able to display my work. Other apps constrain your images by cropping them. In my mind this should be the place to view photography and work with other artists.” — Bruce McCarty, Dayflash user @brucelynnmccarty
