Downside Up

Happiness upside down.

Photograph thanks to Meg Rudder.

I’ve walked in the shade of tomorrows
And seen happiness downside up
I’ve been spread on the bread above my head
And still, sup it up like a hungry pup.

The dark side’s the park of the feckless
In the forest of desert sands
Riding on horseback at midnight
Flanked by bands of reckless brigands.
