Fire earth air and water
Interact in different ways
The elemental contrasts
Put on varying displays
Bushfires scorch the earth
And burn to a cinder
Anything left in its path
Dry flammable and tinder
The air then fans the flames
And reactivates the fire
Catastrophic consequences
Very often dire
Then the rains come|
Douse and suffocate the flames
Wet and irrigate the earth
And wash the scant remains
Sometimes hot tempers flare
Fanned by vocal intervention
Followed by watery tears
Blame and contravention
The sizzling sun in summer
Followed by wind then rain
The parched earth drinking deeply
The pleasure and the pain
The elements in action
Being interactive
Sometimes smooth as silk
At other times reactive
Communication turns to wind
A spark ignites the fire
Down to earth and practical
Deep oceans of desire…
