Here at DAZN, product innovations can come from anywhere and who better than from our engineering team. In December 2017 we gave our highly talented development teams in the UK and Poland the chance to do just that with a 48 hour DAZN Hackathon.
Over 50 developers took part in teams of 3–5 people and set about the challenge of creating a feature which would integrate sports data into our products. At the end of the event each team presented to a panel of judges with prizes awarded to the winning team who used an Amazon Echo to show how a user could ask Alexa to take them straight to the goals on DAZN during a match.
Having got the taste for hacking we then sent a team to The Hacker Games in January to compete alongside technology teams from Moonpig, Just Eat, ASOS and others. More than £10,000 was raised for Help for Heroes at the event with some hard work and fun involved too.
We have many more exciting events coming soon, if you want to see what the team do next then follow us on Twitter at:
