In the last 6 weeks, we have been busy working hard to lay the foundation of our platform with the objective in mind of reinventing online interactions. We onboarded the core team, setup essential internal processes, updated the website (check it out), refined the White Paper and Token Economics, worked on the infrastructure and most importantly talked to a lot of individuals from all backgrounds and ages to learn from them — because we have a customer centric approach. This post is the first of 3 updates to share our roadmap, approach, learnings and introduce new features to the community.

Today I want to share our learnings and decision making process:

Initially we planned to develop a first MMP over the summer (Minimum Marketable Product — a product with the smallest possible feature set, containing just enough functionality to be viable to launch, market and sell the product successfully) to have a working prototype for our Token offering in October. But here is the thing: to either test and use it individuals would have been already familiar with crypto to a certain extent, for example they would need to use metamask and Ether to access it. That would have a huge impact on the conversion funnel because it would exclude the majority of individuals and still what had it proved? That it is possible to build a Dapp* (decentralized Application)? That´s a weak argument because we already know that it is possible and even more — it is the future.

BUT: we´re at the beginning of this particular technology and there is no solution yet which enables real world adoption and scalability.

DBF will migrate towards a more decentralized solution as the technology matures. The transfer of all the transactional infrastructure to the blockchain protocol, while keeping the usability at the highest levels and making the transition for the users seamless is what we’re aiming for.

That lead us to choose a different path and focus first on building a Community of

a) Individuals interested in the product

b) Blockchain enthusiast who want to explore the possibilities

c) And of course, the Investors and Speculators.

Together with this Community we want to answer the most pressuring questions:

  1. Do individuals change and adapt to a new service that organizes and incentivizes online interactions and combines the convenience of a (known) centralized system with the security of a (not understood so far) decentralized one?
  2. Do individuals accept remuneration of online activities with a Token?
  3. Validating the business opportunity via an ICO (Initial Community Offering).

Therefore we want to introduce the Launchpad and the Community Challenges to learn, listen, share and adapt as well as incentivize our community.

The Launchpad is our preferred venue to communicate and collaborate with you in the current state of our project. You can Signup here (with a 1.000 DBF Token welcome bonus). It will allow you to take part in our Community Challenges and the Leaderboard which provides visibility to the most active individuals in our ecosystem.

Soon we´ll provide access to our Sandbox, a forum to discuss and discover the DBF ecosystem (I will share more on the sandbox in another post).

The Community Challenges are incentivized reward mechanisms allocated as results of qualified actions in the DBF ecosystem. They consists of 3 types of challenges: Inviting your friends and professional network will enable us to grow the platform around specific communities. Spread the word about DBF by either sharing our existing content or, even better, create your own content and help us spread the shared values of decentralization, transparency and data ownership. Actively participate to build a better product by giving us feedback, for example: http://bit.ly/Insightspoll (PRO Tip: sign up first and then take the survey which results in 2.000 DBF Token)

To reiterate our Roadmap:

In my next post I will share our thoughts on DBF’s Token Economy and what a fair ICO means to us.

Feel free to clap and please let me know what you think either leave a comment here or at https://t.me/dbfconnect

All the best
