Jim Corrigan survives the oncoming train he faced at the end of the previous issue on the very first page of this one. Corrigan stumbles into a small cavern near the location, where he thinks h runs into Kim Liang. But it’s really the ghost of Gina, the woman that murdered him with the red mist. Or is it?

The ghost strikes out at him, but the Spectre arrives to confront it. The ghost changes shape to reveal its true form, that of a bald demonic figure cloaked in chords of red all over its body. Corrigan escapes, only to find Kim has just arrived at the scene. Every encounter with her from the end of the last issue and the beginning of this was a manipulation by their foe.

We learn the demon gained its power in the Crisis, just as it tries to collapse a building. The Spectre has to use all his abilities to support it from falling.

A call from Corrigan’s cop friend connects the dots of Corrigan’s final days finally. The man he shot just days before meeting Gina is an alias of the same man Gina came to him to help find. Enrique Armas was his victim and even in death sought his revenge. Kept alive by the magic loosed by the Crisis, he manipulated Gina into killing Corrigan. Even with Corrigan’s…
