DC’s Chocolate Moose Builds Relationships with Customers through Humor and Service
DC Storefront Podcast Episode 3
The Chocolate Moose is hard to define. Step inside its doors in downtown DC and you might find books, jewelry, humorous socks, cards… and of course, chocolate. In short, all things that will put a smile on your face. But you might not realize this store has been around for over 40 years.
We spoke with the owner, Michele Cosby, about how she keeps her customer base smiling — and coming back year after year. We also cover the challenges in taking over a business from longtime owners, managing a store with thousands of products, bringing an artistic flair to your business, finding the people and delegating responsibilities, and why fire drills are actually a boon for her business.
