Where has the week gone! Another week of positive change and reflection.

This week has been a period of reflection on the work I have done over the past few months, supporting a wide range of organisations. I have recently completed some case studies for a group called Little Treasures and Horden Welfare Community Football Club. It has been great to reflect on the work DCA has done to support these organisations and where it has taken them.

I have also been working with the Sacriston Cricket Club, which has a long-standing history. It was great to go out and speak with them about who they are and where they would like to go. We discussed becoming a CIO and also offered other wider support. Along with that, I visited Newton Hall Allotments, among others, providing them with the necessary support, specifically around energy efficiency.

A significant development this week has been the progress of the Community Building Energy Efficiency Grant. It’s encouraging to see that the grant is starting to take shape, with applications beginning to slowly come in. The response has been overwhelming, indicating a strong appetite for energy efficiency grants among many organisations. It’s clear that energy efficiency has become a priority, and it’s exciting to be part of supporting County Durham to reduce its carbon emissions and become greener.

Another highlight of this week was connecting with Hilary. It’s been fantastic to link in with the work she’s been doing and explore how we can offer support through the Teesdale Community Buildings Network. Collaborations like these not only enhance our work but also help identify the right people to gain a good understanding of their challenges and needs around energy efficiency.

As we move into the next week, there will be ongoing, continued support for these organisations, and we will see the positive impact of the Energy Efficiency Grant. Here’s to another week of progress and positive change!
