Dear DCCFF Friends,

We’re so excited to launch our official festival blog here on Medium!

While our website is under construction for the upcoming Retrospective taking place September 21–24, we will be sharing all news and updates on here. Once the website is up, the blog will be run concurrently.

As we gear up for this fall’s Retrospective on Chinese Cinema of the 1980s & 1990s, we are collaborating with our partner VCinema on a series of reviews and in-depth pieces on Chinese films of these two decades from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The call for guest bloggers is still open. If you or anyone you know is interested, please check out the link below for more details.

Per tradition, we will be back at Landmark E Street Cinema for our Retrospective screenings this year. Please check back here and on our Facebook page for ticketing and other info.

Our biennial competition program (the official “DC Chinese Film Festival” so to speak) will have its 4th run next year here in DC.

For a recap of last year’s festival or to learn more about us, please visit our 2016 website:

With love,
