Founded in 2021 by established and longstanding contributors to the Cardano ecosystem, dcSpark is a product-based blockchain company building critical products and solutions that extend and enhance the greatest and most promising crypto projects in the space.

Though still a new and growing company, dcSpark has made several new and significant contributions to Cardano already. This success is thanks in part to Project Catalyst, which provides an important and powerful framework allowing the Cardano community itself to determine the course of Cardano development and directly fund proposals that improve the Cardano ecosystem.

One of the dcSpark Catalyst Project proposals approved to date is to support and expand the local Cardano ecosystem in Japan, particularly through developer evangelism. This is crucial because Japan represents one of the largest economies in the world, and already boasts a large and dedicated community of Cardano supporters as well as a large pool of companies eager to try and leverage blockchain technology. Finding ourselves particularly well placed to spearhead efforts to address this community, with co-founder Sebastien Guillemot already based in Japan and fluent in the Japanese language, now with Catalyst Project funding we at dcSpark have been able to vastly extend and amplify our presence in Japan.

In the past two months alone, we have:

  • Recruited a full-time Japan-based Technical Writer
  • Recruited a Cardano Community Manager and Strategy Lead for Japan
  • Embarked on a mission of concerted and proactive community outreach in Japanese through social media and offline events

As just one example, dcSpark recently participated in the 2021 Blockchain Expo Tokyo, hosting a Cardano booth to present information on the latest developments impacting Cardano, including dcSpark’s own Milkomeda protocol. This event brought many major Japanese corporations seeking to make inroads into the blockchain industry, and afforded an excellent opportunity to network with local Cardano supporters as well as blockchain enthusiasts and industry insiders in Japan. Concurrently with the Blockchain Expo, an AI Expo and a Quantum Computing Expo were also held at neighboring venues, which presented the opportunity for dcSpark staff to introduce Cardano to interested professionals from those industries as well. Some photos from the event can be found below:

These steps are just the beginning in our strategy at dcSpark to promote adoption of blockchain in Japan as we continue to take an active role in advancing and extending the Cardano ecosystem around the world.
