Although little more than a year has passed since its founding, dcSpark has already established contributions to the, dcSpark is already an established contributor to the Cardano ecosystem, producing original products to advance the ecosystem as well as helping to develop open technologies like the Cardano Rust SDK, all of which are free to use.

With the results of Catalyst Fund 7 — Here, we will offer a brief overview of each of the approved projects and what we will be working on for the next few months.

You Might be Wondering, What is Project Catalyst?

Project Catalyst is an experimental platform designed to bring on-chain governance to the Cardano blockchain by enabling the community to determine the priorities and growth trajectory of Cardano.

After operating for just over a year now, Catalyst has grown to become the epicenter of idea development and funding for individuals and groups of both small and large capacities in the Cardano ecosystem. This takes the form of a periodic funding schedule focused on realizing solutions for challenges in the Cardano ecosystem.

dcSpark’s Approved Proposals from Catalyst Fund 7

To simplify and share what we’re working on with our community, here is our golden list

Cardano Omnibus — UTXO Management: The open-source research and development of an optimal solution to properly manage the Input and Output UTXOs that occur in transactions done from wallets, dApps, etc. The delivery of this solution promises improved UX and development concepts for users and developers, respectively.

Fractionalized NFTs v2 (Fracada): An upgrade for the NFT Fractionalization protocol (a.k.a. Fracada) we released (at no cost) in late September of 2021 — Did you know that we wrote about this too? Here is the post!

It is an open-source tool to fractionalize Native Asset ownership using Plutus scripts on Cardano. This upgrade will come with an official audit and the feature to fractionalize a basket of many assets (as opposed to single assets in v1).

Nation-Ready Scalability Research: The research and development of a novel scalability solution called Composable Rollups to offer insights and solutions on how to advance Cardano for a nation-ready scale.

Smart Contract Upgradability: The open-source development of a standard framework for upgradeable Plutus smart contracts in Cardano. This solution will help reduce the friction involved in patching and upgrading Plutus scripts for dApps on Cardano.

Basic Plutus Voting dApp: A voting dApp built completely in Plutus that will be open-sourced to the Cardano community to support the governance efforts for dApps, DAOs, and many other projects in the Cardano ecosystem.

As many of you may know, there were also some proposals approved for Milkomeda — an L2 protocol that provides EVM capabilities to non-EVM blockchains — of which we are the core contributors of!

Milkomeda Approved Proposals

dcSpark is core contributor to the Milkomeda protocol.

Milkomeda DAO Hackathon: A virtual hackathon we intend to host for individuals and groups looking to build DAOs with novel ideas and approaches on Milkomeda.

Milkomeda Documentation (JP, KR, ZH): The translation of Milkomeda’s onboarding documentation for users and developers to Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. This will serve as a first step to showcase the global and inclusive nature of Milkomeda and the Cardano ecosystem.

Milkomeda SPO Validator Training: The creation of documentation and content material needed for training Stake Pool Operators who are interested in becoming validators for the Milkomeda C1 network. We believe that this will help SPOs unlock new business opportunities.

Milkomeda Accelerator: An accelerator program focused on supporting individuals and groups in the Cardano community looking to build on Milkomeda with the technical knowledge and business guidance required to succeed. dcSpark’s co-founders have built an exemplary track record in executing successful ventures in the industry and are very much interested in lending their support to many builders out in the Cardano ecosystem.

Expect some more updates

The funding and success of dcSpark’s proposals in Fund 7 of Project Catalyst opens the gateway to a future of rapid, global, and community-driven development in the Cardano ecosystem; An ecosystem that we are proud to be a part of while contributing to further its growth.

We hope to deliver updates on these proposals in our upcoming publications. From Hackathons to Voting dApps, NFT fractionalization to multilingual support, and much more, we look forward to more inclusive and robust systems.
