Drone Employee at GoTech 2017

On October 12, GoTech 2017 forum was held in Moscow. It was organized by the GoTech fund which is engaged in the search and development of technology companies and it is the largest GoTech competition in Russia and Eastern Europe. The veterans of the venture industry select the best technology start-ups and partner companies select projects for investment and joint projects.

Drone Employee visited the forum, took part in the startup competition and now we are happy to share our impressions and achievements.

Speakers and program

Key topics at the forum were criteria for the success of young companies in the world market, ways and secrets of attracting investments for technology companies and partnership opportunities with global technology companies. In addition, experts discussed commercial prospects and ways of introducing VR, AR, computer vision and artificial intelligence. Marvin Liao — Managing Partner 500 Startups, David Yang — founder of ABBYY, Michael Breidenbruecker — co-founder of Last.fm were among the speakers of the forum.

Meetings and contests

During the forum we talked with investors and journalists, as well as discussed the possibilities of implementing drones in business. Gazprom showed interest in the issue of gas pipe audit: now the company spends time and money on personnel who are looking for rust on pipes manually. We suggested using an unmanned fleet of drones based on our software which significantly reduces costs. They highly appreciated our solution and offered to discuss possible cooperation.

LocoTech has faced a similar problem: they need to check the state of the locomotives and the railway infrastructure along the entire length of the railway tracks. They agreed with us that drones are great for this task.

The contest of technology companies was held by several large companies in different nominations: Google, Dell EMC, Beeline, Raiffeisenbank. We are glad to announce that Drone Employee became the winner in the nomination Next Generation Security from Kaspersky Lab! Our competitors were 121 projects, but we have proven the importance and advantages of using blockchain for drones.

As a reward we got access to the business incubator of Kaspersky Lab, the opportunity to launch a project together and receive funding. In addition, we were invited to the Web Summit — the largest technology conference in Lisbon!

To conclude, we want to thank GoTech team for this great opportunity. GoTech is an amazing event that gave our project a powerful push forward. And now we are going to pierce the heavens!
