DDAM — The Data Asset provider on the Blockchain
As technology continues to evolve, the need for data resources continues to grow. Researchers, organizations, and individuals need high performance systems which at the very moment is very expensive to analyse data and folate data. At the other end of the spectrum, the number of mobile devices connected to the internet has exploded. This in turn means that there is lots of data inflow available.
Data is a huge market that is currently dominated by a few big players such as Google and Facebook. These companies hoard user data in their walled-garden silos and use it to make huge profits. Blockchain platforms give users the choice and power to claim their share of that market by giving them back the ownership of their data.
The Blockchain Mainnet
Every blockchain project needs to run on a blockchain network to carry out the project’s functionality as well as the transfer of their own digital currency. However, building a working blockchain network, aka mainnet, takes time for a new project. In order to test and demonstrate the capabilities of a blockchain project to investors and users in a safe environment, it has become a common practice for project teams to run a prototype on a “testnet” first.
As the name suggests, a testnet is a sandbox environment for developers to experiment and test-run the functionality of a project. Developers can carry out all kinds of tests in a safe, separate network without risking breaking the main blockchain.
Opposite to the testnet, a mainnet is the main blockchain network for a project to run on after rounds of testing on the testnet. It is deemed as the final product of a project.
What is a “mainnet launch”?
A mainnet launch is a defining time for a blockchain project to open to public and begin mass adaptation. When a blockchain project team is ready to roll out their official end product, they will carry out a “mainnet launch”, putting the product into actual production and operations.

The closely watched DDAM TestNet went live on November 4th. So far, it had been online for 23 days, and the NAT server was successfully migrated on November 10th. At present, miners on the nodes are running well, with 11,874,871 DDAM and 6,253 blocks that had been successfully mined.
The DDAM MainNet launch is a historic step in the development of the DDAM public chain. The MainNet launch would resolve issues such as irregular data management, data privacy leaks, and difficult data flows. This means that data sovereignty becomes possible for individuals; meaning that community developers and users can truly participate in the DDAM ecosystem together.
