Tim Tebow has a multi-year agreement to be a college football analyst for ESPN and the SEC Network, ESPN announced today.

Tebow’s primary role will be as an analyst for SEC Nation, the SEC Network’s traveling pregame show on different SEC campuses. The show debutsAug. 28, 2014.

ESPN said Tebow, the former star Florida quarterback, will be on a variety of ESPN platforms, including SportsCenter, ESPN Radio and the network’s Heisman Trophy coverage. Tebow will debut Jan. 6 during pregame coverage of the BCS Championship Game between Auburn and Florida State, appearing on SportsCenter, College Football Live and College GameDay.

Tebow will also be part of studio coverage for the College Football Playoff, which begins next season. ESPN’s news release said Tebow’s role with ESPN will not preclude him from continuing to pursue playing opportunities in the NFL.

“I am so excited that ESPN has given me this incredible opportunity,” Tebow said in a statement. “When I was six years old I fell in love with the game of football, and while I continue to pursue my dream of playing quarterback in the NFL, this is an amazing opportunity to be part of the unparalleled passion of college football and the SEC.”
