I’m Fine
When Little Lies are Easier than Uncomfortable Truths

I’m fine.
The lie slips from my lips,
With practiced ease.
My eyes watching,
Waiting to catch a glimpse,
A glimmer of understanding.
It does not come.
The lie is accepted — unquestioned.
Easier than unpacking,
An uncomfortable truth.
