Dead Knight Metaverse: How to play
Beginner guide for the players to complete the upcoming demo of Dead Knight Metaverse.
After a long, long time of waiting, Dead Knight Metaverse finally enters the finalization and, just a moment ago, the game demo was introduced to the public. This guide is written for the purpose of helping the player to get familiar with the demo and increase the chance to clear all maps, as well as defeat the boss, since this is not an easy-going game and you may have to farm and farm again to be at the right level.
Warning: Every experience and walkthrough in this guide is only for the demo version. Some features might be updated in the official release and cause some change to the gameplay.
As reminded in every material from the Dead Knight team, you may need at least one NFT to enter the game. However, since this is public test, everyone is allowed to join by clicking on this link. There are two versions: web-based and mobile. To participate in the game, you need to connect your wallet on the main page to confirm if there is any NFT character available. Nevertheless, no matter if you have or not, you can only play with the Knights provided in the game.
After that, click on Register to create a new account. Once this is done, you can choose to play on the browser or on mobile devices (currently iOS version is not available, so there is only Android). Notice that for PC users who want to try the .apk format, they have to install an Android simulator (Nox Player, BlueStacks, etc.) to make it work.
Once you finish signing up and logging in, the game interface will be like this:
Since this is just a demo to test the main fighting feature, only the marked symbols can actually work.
(1) The in-game currencies, which can be earned after completing each fight.
(2) The Daily Tasks chart, which is not functional right now.
(3) The Fight button, which leads you to Select Map.
For this demo, you can only choose the first map, which contains 4 mob fights and one boss fight.
(4) The Inventory button. From here you can check the NFT character’s equipment, stats and skills:
Once you choose the map, the Battle Information will pop up:
In each battle, the maximum number of Knights allowed to enter is 4 and the minimum is one. Here you can set the formation (Line Up), choose the Knights and appoint the leader (Set Leader). Each formation has its own different effects, while the leader will be granted with 10% HP bonus.
Once clicking on BATTLE, the plan phase is done and the player will move to battle phase. Here is how the battle phase’s interface looks like:
Which side/character goes first depends heavily on the Agility stat. So, in many cases, the player can have all 4 attacks continuously since all 4 Knights have their Agility higher than that of the enemies. Sometimes, the attack turn pattern is interleaving because a monster has Agility stat higher than the next Knight. The order of attack turn is displayed at the bottom of the screen.
The skills of each character are displayed at the bottom right. The image of the sword locked in red frame means that the character can use basic attack only. The skill next to it is greyed out, which means it is not available right now and can only be used after several turns, when the mana bar (the blue bar below the green one, under each character) is full.
To attack the enemy, simply wait for your turn and click on the monster.
To change the skill, tab on the one you want use when it is available. Then, the attack will be the skill attack.
To increase the speed of the game, click on the x (number) box, the maximum is x3.
Once all enemies on the map are defeated, you win and are rewarded with gold, gems and experience points.
Otherwise, you lose and earn nothing.
One thing you should notice, is that in this demo, the character attributes are not added manually but automatically, so you are unable to build your characters as you wish. Hopefully, this feature will be functional in the official release.
Gold and gems are available. However, since this is just to test the fighting mechanism, there is no way to upgrade your weapons or your equipment.
Useful tips and tricks:
- Stay with the Knights you choose from the beginning and keep farming at the map that rewards you the most. Even if the casualty is high, you will win and all Knights joining the fight are rewarded with experience points eventually.
- Fight the enemy that causes the highest damage first until he dies and then move to the others. By focusing on just one enemy, you can cut down one source of heavy damage earned as fast as you can. Unfortunately, the monsters can apply the same tactic. Hence, in some cases, you can win at the first few fights, but keeps losing later.
- Be patient and raise your level high enough to win the fight. Most of the players will get stuck at map 1–3. However, by getting over-level, you will be able to defeat the boss at the last map.
