I Don’t Take Trump’s Proposals Seriously

My Spy editorial for October 16, 2024.

Trump dances in lieu of answering questions at a Pennsylvania town hall meeting. YouTube screen capture.

Earlier this week, I questioned a story about Donald Trump playing music for 39 minutes at a town hall meeting on Monday, October 14, in Oaks, Pennsylvania, so I looked for the video on YouTube. The story was not a fake created by Radical Left Lunatics or communists.

Watch the video yourself if evidence of Trump’s mental decline might help you decide how to vote.

Trump “danced” to the music he ordered. He is not a natural dancer. Even South Dakota’s dog-killing governor, Kristi Noem, looked uncomfortable. She declined to join Trump as a dance partner, possibly to avoid getting molested. She looked worried that Trump may have gone off the deep end.

Trump’s performance reminded me why I don’t take Trump’s proposals seriously. It is because I believe he is so unfit to be president that voters will decline to return him to office.

In recent months, critics of some of my editorials have accused me of being closed-minded. The argument is that despite everything that Trump is, I should study and write about his tariff proposals. Some readers are unhappy that I am not investing time in analyzing whether Trump’s plan to rid America of “scum,” his term for undocumented migrants…
