In Praise of Wood Boats
Our Antique & Classic Boat Festival
Every June, the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum holds its Antique and Classic Boat Festival. I attend every year. And every year, the festival gets better — more exceptional boats and more fun.
I love classic wooden boats, especially Chris-Craft boats. The mahogany runabouts are magic, especially those from the 1930s and 40s.
I used to own a 1958 Chris-Craft Sea Skiff. Much to my happiness, there were several Sea Skiffs at the festival.
