My column for December 11, 2024, from The Spy newspapers.

Screen Capture from PBS broadcast of J6 Committee hearing.

Last Sunday, I tuned into Meet the Press. Kristin Welker had scored the first interview with Donald Trump since the election. I was looking for details on how Trump plans to implement his ambitious agenda, especially the “mass deportations,” tariffs, and promoting government efficiency. I assumed the interview would focus on the future. I was wrong.

Trump remains focused on retribution against anyone who attempted to hold him accountable for alleged crimes committed related to the 2000 presidential election and the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

The piece, published in The Talbot Spy, may be found here.

Liz Cheney should not go to jail.

Donald Trump won the 2024 election, so why does he remain fixated on the people who attempted to hold him accountable for attempting to overturn the 2020 election and for fomenting the January 6 attack on the Capitol? Can’t Trump just enjoy his 2024 victory and move forward?
