Trump’s latest nonsense bodes ill for America’s future
It has not been easy watching or reading about Donald Trump recently. His followers seem oblivious to the serious allegations being leveled against him. And Trump himself is sinking lower and lower into the sewer. Angry at the surprise “superseding indictment” relating to the Mar-a-Lago documents, he again called Special Counsel Jack Smith deranged and topped that by calling President Biden a “Stupid Son of a Bitch.”
Evidence of Smith’s derangement has yet to appear, and Trump’s disparagement of Biden’s mother, who died in 2010, is news to me. She must have been doing something right if her son grew up to be president.
In more civil times, the name-calling would have been front-page news, and Trump would be considered not to have the temperament to serve as president. Unfortunately, America has become used to a lying, foul-mouthed bully of an ex-president. It does not surprise us when we read that when he informed Melania that he was about to be indicted and was asked what for, he answered, “I have no idea.”
