Election Day is six days away, polls show the presidential race “tied,” and various pundits predict a Trump win. I am anxious and dumbfounded that a man who just called the United States “a garbage can for the world” might be elected president.

So, what to do? On Wednesday, my iPhone warned me that the storage was full and that taking more photographs was no longer possible. I checked the storage. I had over 95GB in photos, many of them screenshots of the ex-president at rallies spouting racist garbage, threatening to jail judges and prosecutors, and addressing miscellaneous topics like hydrogen cars, windmills, and the like.

Most of my screenshots were duplicates, but I don’t want to see any images of Trump’s artificially colored face. I am disgusted when I look at his eyes, which remind me of a pig’s. And any photograph of him reminds me of the stories circulating that he smells terrible, perhaps from incontinence.

I started deleting photographs by the dozens yesterday. Some perfectly mediocre shots of Egrets, farm tractors, friends, and even an occasional Italian meal went to oblivion. Creating space on an iPhone by deleting…
