Trump Posted Deceptive Transcript of Zelenskyy Meeting on White House Web Site
The transcript has been deleted — why?
Although I was only watching television, I joined Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova in putting my face in my hands as I listened to the now-infamous White House meeting between President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Towards the end of the meeting, Trump was at his worst. In a meeting with a foreign head of state, President Trump was ranting about the “Russia Hoax,” screaming “Russia, Russia, Russia” at one point and calling out Hunter Biden.
I wanted to read the transcript because I missed seeing Trump’s outburst. I found it on the White House website, but something was missing — Trump’s rant. In its place was an ellipsis, punctuation of three dots indicating that something has been omitted from a quote or to show a pause in speech.
Here is the unedited text of what Trump said in response to a reporter’s question of what would happen if President Putin broke his word after an agreement was reached for a cease fire or end to hostilities in Ukraine:
