After watching golf, the President unleashes on Lisa Monaco
On September 26, the President flew to Bethpage, New York, to watch a round of the Ryder Cup, a prestigious team golf competition between the best American golfers and their European counterparts. The President flew up to the event and back the same day. The outing cost American taxpayers an estimated $16 million.
I don’t know whether that estimate includes the cost of a fly-over by four F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets and Air Force One (not the new Qatari-donated one, and not even the 747 but a smaller Boeing jet sometimes used by Presidents when airports cannot handle 747s).
One might assume the President would be in a good mood after a day watching the world’s greatest golfers, but upon return to the White House, but it appears he wasn’t. Vengeance was on his mind, in this case against former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco under President Biden.
Monaco was hired as Microsoft President of Global Affairs in May, 2025, an action that displeased Trump. Trump’s displeasure erupted into an angry explosion after he returned to the White House from Bethpage. On his social media platform, Trump wrote:
