What is Dear Asian Youth?
Dear Asian Youth (DAY) is a youth-led organization aimed towards Asian awareness. DAY’s mission is to empower Asian youth to celebrate their heritage, increase political activism through education, and break Asian stereotypes in America.
What is Dear Asian Youth of Dallas?
Dear Asian Youth of Dallas is one of the many chapters of DAY. We’re a community-based chapter, striving to achieve the goals of DAY on a local level, within our diverse and heavily populated Asian community.
How do I get involved?
Our General Member applications are always open! Simply fill it out and join the fun! Right now, our Executive Board applications are also open, so if you’re interested you can check the link in our bio.
Who can get involved?
Any high school or college student who stands for our mission, although we do accept middle schoolers as well!
What does a general member do?
General Members participate in all the fun events we do at DAY of Dallas! They take part in our lively discussions and actively promote our chapter!
What does an Executive Board member do?
Our Executive Board Members are currently separated into 3 teams: Content Creation, Marketing/Outreach, and Event Planning. Like their names suggest, board members organize events, create content for our social media pages, and promote the chapter.
What kind of events are you planning?
Due to COVID-19, we will be planning virtual activities for the chapter. The events we have in mind include, but are not limited to, trivia nights, game nights, and career fairs!
How are you communicating with General Members? — We communicate with General Members through Discord. Once again, we are always open for more members to join, so be sure to fill out the application in our bio to meet all the other members! We are also using Slack for those who are unable to use Discord.
Who created DAY?
The founder of DAY is Stephanie Hu, and our Chapter Lead/Director of DAY of Dallas is Salwa Din.
