If I died right now

The loose ends

My angiogram site is still bandaged.

The bathroom is a mess. The floors could use a vacuum and a broom.

The kids are not home from school yet. Where would they go?

I haven’t showered today.

So many photographs uncatalogued, both actual paper photographs and digital images scattered around my laptop and various websites.

Box of research materials for still-unwritten book.

The chili in the slow cooker might burn.

Long neglected blog and podcast.

Not a crazy amount of debt. Student loans. Medical bills.

Haven’t seen my parents or my brother in over a year. Haven’t seen my sister in longer.

Divorce isn’t final.

Won’t get to see my son graduate from high school.

The unread books sitting in my bookshelf. Down to the last three chapters of Carthage Must Be Destroyed (well, I know how it ends).

Leaving the backyard overgrown with grass, weeds, and vines. The hummingbird feeder is empty.

Outside entryway is a disaster. All potted plants dead, a pile of dirt next to one empty pot.

Unrealized travel plans. Didn’t make it to the South Pacific.

Haven’t yet mastered the scissors hip key skill in aerial class.

Purple hair needs to be re-done.
