Post-modernism

The Post-modern movement sprung forth from the growing desires for possessing things of value as a result of consumerism and materialism. The movements heavy focus on unique, novelty designs, that sometimes displayed a level of self awarness, resulted in an era of weird designs that continue to influence design now. With a lot of the design features taken from past movements the necessity of looking back and understanding what works and what does not work, themselves creating designs that worked and did not themselves, is why post modernism is one of the most influential design movements of the last few decades.
