As Covid-19 continues to spread at a rapid pace, employers and employees are continuing to practice social distancing. Businesses are now adapting to a new normal — working from home. Working from home can pose many benefits, from cutting down on transportation costs to spending more time with loved ones.

With the rise of communication applications and technology, working from home is easier than ever and more efficient. Coworkers are able to file share and host meetings, all from the comfort of their home. Moreover, there are many different apps available in order to boost productivity and maintain a schedule.

The following are some important tips that can help to boost productivity and keep you feeling efficient while at home:

1. Plan your day out the night before

Writing down your to-do list mentally prepares yourself and holds yourself accountable to the tasks that need to get done. It can help you to map out your lunch or walk breaks, which are extremely important. Also, if you are working at home with kids, it can help you to work around their schedule.

2. Follow a morning routine

Setting up a set time to sit down and check in with your co-workers helps to maintain a sense of normalcy for those who are not accustomed to working from home. Before you sit down, make a coffee or go for a run. Try to implement morning habits that you would normally do if you were not working remotely.

3. Use a video conferencing app & stay in contact

Not only are video conference apps useful for hosting business meetings but having more face-to-face social time can boost productivity as well. Video conferencing apps are great for group brainstorming sessions, or even a once a week check-in with your boss. There are also plenty of instant messaging apps that also help you to stay in close contact with your co-workers.

4. Manage time with a productivity app

One of the main benefits of remote work is flexibility. Downloading a productivity app helps you measure your productivity levels. Some applications can track all the time spent on each app and website on your computer. Some applications can even temporary block websites and specific app usage during work hours, helping you stay the most productive.

5. Find the perfect workspace

Having a dedicated office at home is ideal, but sometimes it’s not possible. By working in one specific spot every day, your brain associates that one spot with working. Make sure there’s plenty of light to boost your energy and reduce eye strain.

Even though we are working remotely, data security and privacy should still be at the forefront of everyone’s minds. Working on a VPN, as well as using communications tools and platform on a decentralized, blockchain network helps to keep all sensitive data safe and secure.
