This May 15, we animated a session of the Sustainability Committee, in partnership with the French-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and La French Tech Mexico at the San Miguel Station on the theme “Green IT and digital sobriety”.

Our objective was to demonstrate Decathlon’s commitment to integrate sustainable technology into our global operations. We took Decathlon Mexico as an example to illustrate these best practices.

The forum offered a comprehensive exploration of sustainability in the technology sector and thanks to the presence of consultant Angelica Calvet we were able to see topics such as:
👉 Digital sobriety : what is it and why do we need it.
👉 The real impacts of digital transformation in business.
👉 The development of best practices in digital responsibility.
👉 And a summary of current regulations aimed at reducing the digital environmental footprint in various regions.

In addition, we highlight with the intervention of Baptiste Bour the good initiatives of Decathlon Mexico aimed at promoting environmental responsibility.

Our Digital IT team composed of Baptiste Bour team leader and Carlos Ramirez, responsible for Green IT strategies in Mexico are sensitized to these issues and work to propose :
💻 A program to responsibly recycle our obsolete equipment.
🗑️ A global campaign that encourages the cleaning of digital storage to reduce emissions.

These efforts are part of our broader strategy to reduce our impact on the environment led by our sustainability leader Clemence Grillet and also to inspire other companies on the path to more responsible practices.

Many thanks to Nathalie Otte 🌍👩‍💻 who drove this Workshop from United.

Thanks to Raphaël Muel Mörsel from CCFM and Paola Figueroa from French Tech for their support in organizing the event and to Estación San Miguel for hosting us.
