Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon Gains New Partnership
We are proud to announce that our global hackathon series, Blockchain Pioneers, has gained a very important partnership with Wanxiang Blockchain Labs, a research institution dedicated to the promotion and application of blockchain technology. The company has been hugely successful since its establishment in 2015 and annually hosts the largest blockchain summit in China, along with many other events and sponsorships.
Wanxiang Blockchain Labs focuses on providing support for the research, entrepreneurship, development and application within the blockchain industry. They are currently planning to invest 200 billion RMB ($30 billion) into Hangzhou, a smart city in the Xiaoshan district, over the next 7 years. Hangzhou promises to be a hotspot for blockchain activity.
The ambitious undertaking could provide living and job opportunities for more than 90,000 people, with blockchain as its technological backbone. This will become the biggest blockchain application project worldwide. Partnering with DECENT and the Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon, co-hosted by Impact Hub Berlin, coincides perfectly with their mission, since the theme of the Berlin event is “Shaping Smart Sustainable Cities for the Future”.
Wanxiang Blockchain Labs is offering some additional perks for the winning teams, including all-expenses paid packages to the Shanghai International Blockchain Week 2018 (SIBW) on September 7–12. When added to the prize package from DECENT, the winning teams will receive the following:

- Mentoring & collaboration with experienced DECENT team members
- Compete against other Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon winners in the grand finale
- 4x multi-entry tickets to SIBW including flight and accommodation
2ndplace
