Summer is coming, but DECENT is already burning it up with new wallet upgrades, tech updates, hackathons, launch parties, conferences, extensive media outreaches and much more. Without wasting any time, let’s have a look back at our achievements from May.

Always Striving for Perfection 🔬

This month started out with a tech focus, as several updates and upgrades were made to our wallet family in order to give more options and security to our users. All three of our official DECENT wallets (Web, Android, and iOS) received some well thought out improvements. These included design, usability, functionality and, last but not least, a massive fee reduction-from 0.005 DCT down to only 0.001 DCT per transaction! You can read more about all the wallet upgrades here.

Keeping with the theme of upgrading our technology, DCore will be getting a big update (mandatory for all miners/witnesses) very soon. We’ve already mentioned this to our miners so they can be prepared to update their nodes and keep DCore running smoothly, without interruption. This update will host some cool new features, so stay tuned for the upcoming release to find out more.

Around the World and Back Again ✈️

Our community is stronger than ever, as proven by our largest hackathon turnout in history. The edition of the Blockchain Pioneers Hackathon series was a splendid event, with student teams from all over the ASEAN region coming together to compete for the grand prize-a whopping 100,000 DCT (equating to ~ at the time of the hackathon) plus mentorship and incubation services from our new blockchain incubation division, SingaporeDCube!

Team WhatTheHack! took home the gold (and the DCT) with their impressive advertisement browser extension (Chrome) running on DCore, giving users the choice to opt-in to view advertisements while browsing the web and being rewarded for doing so. We are highly enthusiastic about this project and again want to say our congratulations to WhatTheHack for their outstanding achievement.

Speaking of projects running on DCore, our good friends at ALAX just made headlines by officially launching their three flagship products ( and ALAX Publisher) in Vietnam. The team hosted a grandiose party to kick off the news which saw giveaways, prizes, costumes, and arcade-style gameplay demonstrations for those in attendance.

Coming back home to Europe, this month, 3IPK joined us at the Metro Online Conference in Slovakia. Our subsidiary, DECENT Media Group (DMG), also promoted their services at the largest media and entertainment festival in Cannes, France. Our very own Business Development Manager, Linda Petrikova, even spoke about the new service in an interview at the event. The Slovak Embassy in Toronto, Canada, helped sponsor the Collision Conference this month, as well. Of course, we were there to represent DECENT and educate the public about the benefits of DCore.

We are excited to attend two major upcoming events in London and Shanghai. The London Tech Week (LTW) is known as one of the largest technology gatherings in the world and this year they will host a two-day hackathon alongside their world-class conference and exhibition. Some of our DCore developer team members will be there in person to promote the technology and show the hackathon participants exactly how easy it is to build on and achieve their blockchain goals.

Additionally, we will be co-hosting the 5th Asia Future Fintech Innovation Conference in Shanghai, China. This event is shaping up to be one of the most prominent in all of China, and our CEO and Founder, Matej Michalko is clearly enthusiastic about us being there. He was also quoted by banklesstimes.com, and you can read his comments here.

Media Coverage and Next Up for DECENT 🎥

Our network of media partners is expanding, as we continuously grow our outreach to new demographics. This month, we were featured in the digital magazine, The Next Web, which you can find here. Also, our partners Fiction Riot and their DCore-driven streaming platform, Ficto, were featured in this article by TechCrunch.

Talking about media, it’s only fitting that we create our own video series covering a range of DECENT, DCore and blockchain-related topics. The first of which will be out very soon, and you can bet your bottom dollar it will explain in perfect detail the benefits of DCore and educate viewers about the versatility of our technology. While you’re anxiously waiting for that, we’d love to hear your feedback on our latest video, where Matej gives a general overview of DECENT.

And lastly, for all of you blockchain enthusiasts who want to work for an innovation leader such as DECENT, we are hiring! We have several positions open, including Travel Manager, Product Marketing Manager, PR and Market Communications Manager, and more. Check out our Careers page to see all of the positions available at DECENT.

As always, follow us on social media for the latest news and updates, and join our live discussions on Telegram, where you can speak directly with our team.
