They say there’s a fine line between courage and stupidity.

There’s a balance in any decision between the value of forethought and the value of action. To incorrectly choose action is often perceived as stupidity.

But there’s a more useful line to understand — the line between courage and intelligence.

Forethought alone can only take us so far.

At some point, we have to act.

To go any further, we have to step across that line and take action. And when agility’s required, too much forethought is counter-productive.

That’s where you change from being just intelligent, to behaving intelligently.

That doesn’t always take forethought, but it usually takes courage.
