Pure, Uninterrupted, Deep, Focused Work

It’s getting to the point where I’m tired of talking about leaving my career to venture out into the world of self-employment.

But I have to reflect once more today, because there is something people don’t realize.

Work can be rewarding.

Showing up to a cubicle to perform a series of tasks is not the same as pure, uninterrupted, deep, focused work.

One drives you crazy. The other leaves you with a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment.

Many people dream of leaving their jobs to do something they love. But here’s the thing:

You don’t need to do what you love to love what you do.

When we apply our psychic energy towards a challenge that both tests and grows our skills, we often find ourselves in the midst of pure, uninterrupted, deep, focused work. Work that is actually enjoyable. Work that is rewarding.

Work that we love.
