The Coronavirus Pandemic has brought the whole world to a standstill. It has disrupted the way things work across the world. With the virus fear shaking up the nation, many private companies are jumping in to provide relief and create new support strategies in as many ways as possible.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) also announced a host of measures to provide aid to the country and its people including continued pay to contract and temporary workers, setting up a dedicated temporary hospital for COVID-19 patients, and ensuring enough essential supplies across all its 736 grocery stores. The tech giant has also ensured to provide free meals to people across all cities in partnership with various local NGOs.

The company is also ramping up its mask and protective suits production, to help the healthcare workers to get enough equipment to fight the coronavirus challenge.

RIL has donated ₹500 crores to PM’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation (PM CARES) Fund to help the government to fight against the pandemic. In addition to the PM CARES Fund, the company has also provided contributions of ₹5 crores each to Maharashtra and Gujarat government to support their fights against the COVID-19.

Reliance’s Jio vertical announced multiple initiatives to help its subscribers in any way possible during the nationwide lockdown. Jio is expanding its digital capabilities to enable individuals, students, businesses, and educational institutions to continue their work as usual while still practising social distancing and following the norms of the lockdown. Through its various digital services, JioFiber, Jio 4G services, and Jio Apps, Jio is helping citizens live a life as normal as possible.

JioFiber & Its Offerings

As businesses suffer from the lockdown, they have now made work from home their mainstream. JioFiber has taken all necessary measures to ensure a fast and uninterrupted workflow to the people working from home. They have launched a new free 10Mbps broadband plan for new users, without any service charges. The plan is a part of Jio’s #CoronaHaregaIndiaJeetega initiative which will ensure that connectivity is maintained for the people who are working from home. A new connection will be provided for all feasible locations. The new users just need to sign up for it on the Jio website or MyJio app.

Meanwhile, all the existing JioFiber subscribers will get double data benefits based on their current plans at no extra cost to ensure smooth internet connectivity to the people working or studying at home.

Reliance Jio’s Data and Talktime Offerings

Jio recently announced the launch of new 4G data vouchers which are designed to address people’s internet and calling needs while the nation is under strict lockdown. A number of add-on data plans have been launched that can be used to top-up the data after you have exhausted your daily limit. These 4G vouchers start from just ₹11 only and can be clubbed with any existing prepaid plans that the users are on. They are offering the plans at ₹11, ₹21, ₹51, and ₹101.

Additionally, Jio has also launched the Work From Home plan which is priced at ₹251. This plan offers 2GB data every day and a validity of 51 days. If the user has exhausted their data limit for the day, they can continue to browse the internet at 64Kbps. This reduced speed doesn’t have any data limit.

Jio has also announced an extended validity of prepaid plans of all existing JioPhone users. In addition to that, they will also get 100 minutes of IUC calls and 100 SMS until April 17th. This decision comes after realizing that there are many people who might be unable to go to retail stores and get their recharge done.

JioPOS Lite App

The company has rolled out an app called JioPOS Lite which will enable anyone to become a Jio partner and earn commission by recharging for other users. This app works like a virtual recharge store where the users can recharge for other Jio users’ account and get a commission up to 4.16%.

As of now, this app is only available for Android users and anyone can download it from Google Play Store. The user can also keep a track of all the transactions done for other Jio account for a period of 20 days, using the app’s Passbook feature. This move comes to help retailers in this business to keep earning a commission while their stores remain shut during the nationwide lockdown. However, anyone can become a partner and earn money for recharging other Jio accounts.

Tambola For Home Entertainment

Jio never stops innovating and has come up with a very simple yet interesting game that can get you hooked up and can also make you win money!

The telco announced an exciting Tambola game where one can win prizes on a daily basis by participating in this contest. The game is absolutely free of cost. The Jio Tambola starts every day at 7 PM on the My Jio App. To win prizes, you just have to answer one simple question. The lucky winners get a chance to win exciting prizes every day! What better way to spend your after ‘work from home’ hours than playing the traditional Tambola and winning amazing prizes!
