2019 was a great year for smartphones! From OnePlus to Apple to Vivo, all smartphone companies came out with new tech and features to upgrade their devices. But it’s not over yet! 2020 has even more exciting devices, waiting to be launched. As we have stepped into this new decade, it’s high time to upgrade your mobile device!

  1. Xiaomi Mi Note 10

The Mi Note 10, launched in China as Xiaomi CC9 Pro, is said to run on Android 9 Pie. It is expected to have an Octa-core (2.2 GHz, Dual-core, Kryo 470 + 1.8 GHz, Hexa-core, Kryo 470) processor, with Snapdragon 730G chipset and 52260 mAh battery. The phone might come with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB in-built storage. There are speculations that Mi Note 10 will have an AMOLED display. The dimensions of the phone are expected to be 157.8 mm x 74.2 mm x 9.6 mm, and it is expected to weigh around 208 gms. The phone’s resolution is said to be 1080 x 2340 pixels, with 398 PPI. You can expect to get a 32-megapixel front camera. The rear console might come with a 108 MP main sensor, 12 MP telephoto lens, 5 MP optical zoom sensor, and a 20 MP ultra-wide lens. The other features of the phone may include 50x digital zoom, face recognition, 5x optical zoom, 4G VoLTE availability, NFC, and much more. The phone is expected to launch on January 24th, 2020, at a price of ₹ 28,000.

2. Motorola razr

Motorola is bringing the razr back! It still has the cult straight-razor-like sleek, folding design. The twist, however, is that unlike the OG razr, instead of having a screen and a keypad, it comes with a foldable display! The latest upgrade is entirely touch screen but still manages to make us feel nostalgic. The phone was first launched in November 2019 in Los Angeles and was instantly loved by users. It is said to run on Android 9 Pie. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset processor. We can expect a 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The phone is also expected to have an Octa-core (2.2 GHz, Dual-core, Kryo 360 + 1.7 GHz, Hexa-core, Kryo 360) processor, and will be backed up with a 2510 mAh battery. The device’s dimensions are speculated to be 172 mm x 72 mm x 6.9 mm, and the weight, around 205 gms. The users might experience an 876 x 2142 pixel screen resolution, with 373 PPI. The customers can expect a 5 MP front camera and 16 MP rear camera. The phone may also pack in features like face recognition. The phone is expected to be released on February 18th, 2020, at about ₹ 1,08,290.

3. Oppo Find X2

Oppo is planning to launch a really interesting smartphone this year. Certain reports say that Oppo is planning to build an under-display camera for the next iteration of Find X. Well, it’s not yet confirmed, but we sure hope it is true! It is expected to be a Hole-Punch camera like the one on the Samsung Galaxy A8. The smartphone makers did confirm that their new phone will run on a Snapdragon 865 processor. The phone is scheduled to launch on February 19th, 2020, at a price of ₹ 72,000.

4. Samsung Galaxy S11 and S11+

There has been a tsunami of rumours about Samsung’s 2020 smartphones. The upcoming launches, Samsung Galaxy S11 and S11+, are expected to have a smaller punch-hole camera system, and a bigger rear camera console. It might also come with 5G infrastructure! According to some recent rumours, it might be called the Samsung Galaxy S20. After S10, they might jump straight to S20. This might mean that it could be a giant leap over previous generations. They might even have Aura Glow variant. The phone is expected to launch in India, on February 18th, at a price of ₹ 73,000.

5. Samsung Galaxy A71

Samsung unveiled two new gadgets in its Galaxy A range, Samsung Galaxy A51 and Samsung Galaxy A71, at CES 2020. They are one of the most high-tech, mid-range devices. The A71 device is expected to have a huge 6.7-inch display. The phone is said to have four rear cameras, including a 64 MP primary camera. Apart from this, the new Samsung Galaxy A71 is expected to have a 4500 mAh battery. The phone is speculated to launch on the 28th of January, 2020 and might be priced at ₹ 29,990.

6. TCL 10 5G

It seems like TCL is going to be the first one to enter the market with an affordable 5G phone. The company launched its first 5G phone alongside the TCL 10L and 10 Pro at CES 2020. The highlight here is the affordability of the phone. TCL is likely to give a tough competition to other manufacturers who plan to launch a 5G phone in 2020.

The TCL 10 5G is said to have a 6.3-inch display, 64 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP camera console and a 5000 mAh battery. The phone is expected to launch in the country on February 24th, 2020, at a price of about ₹ 29,999.

7. Redmi K30

Redmi is all set to launch its new phone, Redmi K30. This phone is expected to come with a 5G variant. The phone was first launched in China along with RedmiBook 13, the first Redmi router and smart speaker. The phone is speculated to have a 120 Hz refresh rate and a quad rear camera setup, with a 20 MP front camera. The 5G variant of this device is supposed to have a 27W fast charging. It is expected to launch on February 20th.

8. Realme X50 5G

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer announced its first 5G phone, the Redmi X50 5G. The company also revealed that it will use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 765G in the device. The phone might have a 6.5-inch, full-HD display and a 4500 mAh battery. The phone might also support a quad-rear camera setup and a dual selfie camera. It is speculated to launch on January 30th at ₹ 25,790.

9. Google Pixel 4A

It looks like Google has finally decided to add more than one rear camera to its phone. The new Google Pixel 4A is expected to have a dual-camera setup. The second camera might offer a wide-angle lens. The phone speculated to have 2800 mAh battery and might run on a Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 processor. The phone may also support touch to focus and facial recognition. The Pixel 4 didn’t come to India, but Pixel 4A is supposed to make an appearance. There is no news yet, about whether or not it will have the radar sensor. It is expected to launch on January 28th, at a price of ₹ 69,990.

10. Huawei Mate X

A day before the Mobile World Congress kicked off, Huawei announced its first foldable smartphone, which might even feature a 5G radio. Huawei Mate X is expected to have a 6.6-inch display (when folded), without a notch or a camera. You can see the front camera when the phone is unfolded to become a huge 8-inch display. The phone might feature a 40 MP wide-angle camera, 16 MP ultra-wide camera, and 8 MP telephoto lens. Apart from all this, the phone might also support a 4500mAh battery. Huawei Mate X is expected to launch on February 28th, at a price of ₹ 1,85,285.
