India is currently booming with startups. While the economy has been lagging this year, some startups are poised to make it big even in a slow-growing market. Indian startups are securing massive investments to grow market share. India is currently working to establish itself in the global tech world. Encompassing new innovations and technologies in their business, startups are seeking a lot of success. Many of these startups have gained popularity and are providing services to almost all parts of the country and some have already launched their services in international markets. On the other hand, certain Indian startups have also acquired a ‘unicorn’ status — a valuation of more than a billion US dollars.

CureFit is an Indian health and fitness company that offers online as well as offline services. These services include fitness, nutrition and mental wellbeing. They aim to make fitness easy and fun. CureFit provides a wide range of trainer-led workout classes and groups. The company has gyms under the name Cult.Fit, healthy food under the name Eat.Fit, mental wellness under the name Mind.Fit and diagnostic centres under the name Care.Fit. CureFit was founded in the year 2016 by Ankit Nagori and Mukesh Bansal. Its headquarters are in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Dunzo

Dunzo is a hyper-local delivery service that delivers anything and everything within a city. Its services include delivery of packages, groceries, food, medicines, pet supplies and a lot more. The app provides services in almost 7 cities of India, which are, Bangalore, Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai, Delhi, Noida and Hyderabad. It is also in the process of slowly rolling out in select neighbourhoods in other cities such as Mumbai. It was founded in 2015 by Ankur Aggarwal, Dalvir Suri, Kabeer Biswas, and Mukund Jha. Headquarter of Dunzo is located in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Flock

Flock is a real-time messaging service which is used by corporates and teams. It helps speed up and ease the communication between team members and enhance productivity. The app provides one-on-one chat on public and private channels. It also allows multi-party video calling, audio calling and screen sharing. Flock connects over 25,000 companies and the users of Flock have recorded increased productivity in their work by 30%, 50% and 70%. The company competes directly with Slack and Microsoft Teams was founded in the year 2014 by Bhavin Thurakia. Its headquarter is located in Mumbai.

Meesho

Meesho is an online reseller that is mainly targeted towards homemakers and SMEs, who can sell their products via their networks across social channels. The company is becoming the next big e-commerce platform where homepreneurs and small business owners can sell their products at the comfort of their homes through WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram. It has become accessible to 20,000+ homepreneurs and is spread across 150+ cities of India. It was founded in 2015 by Sanjeev Barnwal and Vidit Aatrey, its headquarter is located in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Razorpay

Razorpay is a software application that allows a business to accept, process and make payments via their product suite. There are no restrictions on any payment mode. The app allows payments through credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI and e-wallets like JioMoney, Mobikwik, Airtel Money, Free Charge and PayZapp. It was founded in 2014 and its headquarter is located in Bangalore, Karnataka.

Udaan

Udaan is a platform meant for Business-to-Business trade. It has been designed specifically for medium and small businesses in India. The purpose of Udaan is to make business easy in India. It aims to make B2B commerce convenient and efficient. Their belief is that B2B is the new B2C. Since India has over 50 million small and medium businesses that occupy half of its economy, Udaan aims to bring the power of the internet to these millions of budding entrepreneurs. It was founded in the year 2016 by Amod Malviya, Sujeet Kumar, Vaibhav Gupta. Its headquarter is located in Bangalore, Karnataka.

With a growing economy and no shortage of problems to solve, there are enormous money-making opportunities for the taking. Startups are flourishing and in fact, India currently has 26 ‘Unicorn’ startups in its name.
