A Pakistani scientist serving as Assistant Professor, Karachi University, Dr.Anjum Nawab on Monday claimed to generate bio plastic with mango kernel, easily dissoluble and has no threat to the environment, aquatic life and plants.

Bio plastic from mango kernel…..

She said that “Pakistan is known for ample production of mango in the world so I chose mangoes’ waste to form bio-plastic bag in my PhD studies”

She was working to produce plastic with the waste of other fruits by using its stone and skin so it would not cost much while preparing bio plastic moreover using this plastic in manufacturing plastic would not cost the factory owners much resultantly the buyers could purchase bags easily.

These bio-plastic could be used to make shopping bags, adding that it could be melted in the ground just like fruits waste and could be liquified under hot water. This whole process from generating plastic with mangoes’ stones to manufacturing bags would be environment friendly.

Environment friendly Bio-plastic……

Pakistan should impose 100% ban on all plastic bags and even plastic cups, bottles, plates, plastic furniture, etc etc. We dont need plastic, humans have been living without plastic for millions of years, plastics only came on the scene in the 50s and 60s and turns out, it is a nightmare. Anything man made becomes a problem, use what God gave us in nature.

Pakistan has a plenty of skilled workers whose energies need to be channelised properly. Pakistan is gradually imposing a ban on the use of polythene bags that played havoc with the country’s environment and major sewerage systems remains clogged as plastic takes hundreds of years to decompose in landfills.

Have you ever eaten plastic? …..Probably not. But Now we have an ‘edible’ plan to tackle this global waste problem. “If you extract the starch and store it, you can easily use it as raw material for over a year,”. Don’t use the plastic and throw it. Eat it instead. Or dissolve it in water. And make your environment neat and clean for all living life.
