Open source software is the backbone our world’s digital infrastructures and blockchain technologies are poised to become a vital part of the infrastructures in the years and decades ahead.
Our team has been obsessed with push sustainable open source forward — and today, we committing to push this movement forward and give the global we want to share the opportunity to join this movement and world wide community effort, that’s also got tens of thousands of dollars in prizes on the line!
Deconet will be coordinating the first Distributed Open Source + Blockchain Development Contest on June 15th 2018.
This event is different from standard hackathons because it’s being hosted by a number of distributed community nodes, hackers can generate passive income from what they create in addition to winning prizes, and the opportunity to collaborate with people from all around the world.
In order to make this happen, four entities type are involved:
Participants
Participants can compete for big prizes by building and are eligible for rewards, just for participating. Team and individual hackers, developers, designers, and product people can apply here today.
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be invited to the Contest team on Slack.
Community Nodes
Community Nodes are the stewards of open source and development education. These are self selecting meetups, developer bootcamps, clubs, and other organizations who want to ensure their community members can get rewarded for working on cutting edge problems. If you’d like to register a community node, do so here.

Contest Sponsors
Blockchain projects and protocols can host development challenges for this extended community and setup great prizes, ranging from 3k to 15k for development of open source applications, tools, and mircoservices that be serve a role in their ecosystems and leverage their protocols.

Blockchain Community
Blockchain projects are all about involving the community, and this contest is no different. In addition to winner being picked by sponsors, the blockchain community will have the opportunity to pick winners, via social voting, for the most original and impactful projects.
