It was awesome.

Thanks to the arid climate of Egypt, some dudes with shovels in the 70’s dug up a preserved copy of The Book of Judas.

It was a book of the Gnostic Gospel dating back to the 1200’s AD. This book runs contrary to the portrayal of Judas in modern Christianity, and reveals some fascinating beliefs of the mysterious Gnostic religion.

To get an idea of Gnosticism, imagine jailbreaking Christianity. It’s good ol’ Jesus, with a bunch of extra dark-web plugins and downloadable content... I quite enjoy it.

First of all, they don’t like the God who created us. Not at all. They resent and curse him, referring to him as “The Foolish One.” Which is a hilarious thing to call the god of creation. It just comes off very “you’re not my dad!”-esque.

Instead of worshipping the God who created them, like a good Christian, the Gnostics looked around and were openly horrified by what they saw.

So they demanded to speak with God’s manager.

God’s manager, in the Christian-Gnostic pantheon, is the creator of the creator…
